Tivo to Launch Ad Search Engine |

Tivo Inc., the creator of television services for digital video
recorders and leader in advertising solutions, will widen its horizon
by developing an advertising search engine for its digital video
recorders.
The development of Tivo’s new product was created
with the partnership of leading media and ad agencies such as OMD,
Interpublic Media and Comcast Spotlight. This newest feature will be
available in spring of 2006.
According to Davina Kent, vice president of national advertising sales,
these leaders in advertising and media are chosen to work with the
program because of their aggressiveness in supporting interactive
applications.
Tivo has already provided a service wherein the consumers could click
on an icon during advertising spots to request additional information.
This feature has drastically increased the company’s success.
The new service would benefit both advertisers and consumers. The
advertisers could place their ads that could reach a wider target
audience. The consumers could enter a keyword and search for product
information and services of all the participating advertisers. This,
will in turn, increase the relevancy for the consumer and be an
effective tool for the advertiser.
The searchable advertisements would include traditional commercial
spots and long-form contents. While the development of the new service
is on its way, Tivo along with its media and advertising partners will
establish the price of the product.
